The TTCSI hosted its first major event for the year at the Hilton Trinidad and Conference Centre on September 7th, 2018. The event focused on the new regulatory framework for procurement practices in Trinidad and Tobago and featured Mr. Moonilal Lalchan, Chairman of the Office of Procurement Regulation as the main speaker. His feature presentation gave an overview of the Public Procurement and Public Disposal Act 2015 and more specifically introduced the new requirements for organizations who are expected to comply with the Act.
Some of the main areas covered in his presentation were compliance, offences and penalties
and implications for breaches. The presentation was overwhelmingly well received and persons
were invited for a short question and answer segment that ended off proceedings for the day.
Persons of interest in attendance was Ms. Frances Seignoret, Permanent Secretary of the
Ministry of Trade and Industry.
