The T&T Coalition of Services Industries (TTCSI) has been nominated and is a finalist in two categories–best conference and best virtual event–in the vFairs Eventeer Awards 2024.

In a release yesterday, TTCSI stated, “The organisation is being recognised for its ground-breaking virtual event hosted on the vFairs platform, the Caribbean Services Exporters Symposium (CSES), which took place on October 17-18, 2023.”

TTCSI hosted the CSES virtual symposium themed “Reimaging the Caribbean: Positioning the Future driven by Knowledge Services Growth” with the Barbados Coalition of Services Industries (BCSI), Belize Coalition of Services Providers (BCSP), Jamaica Coalition of Services Industries (JCSI), Jamaica Chamber of Commerce (JCC), Caricom Private Sector Organisation (CPSO), and the Asociación Latinoamericana de Exportadores de Servicios (ALES).

“Levels of participation at the symposium were quite encouraging, with virtual exhibition booths reporting some 1,741 visits over the two-day period. Some 436 entities registered to attend, and on each day, roughly 233 entities were either attending virtual workshops, panel discussions and webinars, or visiting exhibitions at virtual booths, or networking/matchmaking and discussing potential business opportunities in virtual conference rooms set aside for B2B Meetings,” the statement said.

TTCSI chief executive officer Vashti Guyadeen credited the nominations achievement to the alliances created.

“This venture into the digital domain was not just about adapting to a virtual environment. It was a bold step towards envisioning the future of services exporters and providers.” she stated.

Guyadeen believes the symposium is a “crucial step” in realising a vision of a strong, highly resilient, globally competitive and export-oriented Caribbean services sector.

“Our collective effort was aimed at propelling the services agenda within the Caribbean region to new heights. Our symposium distinguished itself through a meticulous focus on data-driven content, addressing core issues impacting the services sector in the Caribbean. The calibre of speakers and moderators at CSES23, who brought a wealth of expertise and insight, was instrumental in elevating the event to a global standard. It’s this level of excellence and commitment to innovation that garnered these prestigious nominations, serving as a testament to the untapped potential within the Caribbean services sector,” she noted.

The winners of the vFairs Eventeer Awards will be announced on February 5 and once inducted into the “Winner’s Circle” they will be celebrated through the Eventeer Awards winners’ campaign, the TTCSI explained.

Guyadeen believes the accolades represent a “collective achievement for the Caribbean”.

“They represent a collective achievement for the Caribbean community, showcasing our unified spirit and capabilities on an international stage,” she stated.

The awards are being decided by public vote, with the online polls closing on January 26.

Guyadeen encouraged everyone in the region to cast their votes in favour of CSES23 in the two categories in which it has been nominated: best conference (https://discover.vfairs.com/eventeer-awards-2024/69/nominee/9704) and best virtual event (https://discover.vfairs.com/eventeer-awards-2024/105/nominee/9704).
